Answer: Yes, the lid-mounted temperature gauge provides an accurate measurement of the grill's inside temperature. -

Can you use the gas and the charcoal at the same time?
Answer: Depends which model, as despite the other answers you technically can. On the 440 which is the bigger one, the coal tray comes in 2 halves, so you could have one side charcoal and one side gas, unlike the 3 burner which the coal tray covers the whole thing. -

What is the dangling metal chain for? What side does it go on?
Answer: You can put a match in the dangling metal chain and light the barbecue via the hole above it if the ignition should ever fail. Please never light the barbecue from above the fire box. -

Can anyone tell me the height of the cooking area off and shelves above ground level?

Answer: Yes, you can use the Char-Broil Universal rotisserie or the Char-Broil Premium rotisserie kit for this model. -

Can you convert to natural gas using the Char-Broil conversion kit?
Answer: No, you can't convert Char-Broil grills to natural gas. -
Question:
Can I reheat the coals if they go cold?
Answer: Yes, you can reheat the coals when it cools down. To do this, add a few more coals if necessary and light the burners again for approx. 10 - 15 minutes. -
Question:
If I run out of gas, can I light the charcoal the traditional way (i.e. liquid fuel or lighter cubes)?
Answer: I would prefer to light the charcoal in a charcoal starter and put those in the charcoal tray, when ready. But before you run out of gas you will run out of charcoal... :-) -

What size and type of gas for BBQ?
Answer: Dear Caroline, All our grills (except X200 and Patio Bistro) are supplied with a clip-on regulator, that only works with Patio Gas. Patio Gas is more commonly used for outdoor purposes and more specifically for barbecues and patio heaters. These bottles are compatible with a 27mm clip-on regulator. Patio gas can be either propane or butane and supplied in a patio gas bottle or patio gas cylinders. Both work equally as well, although propane is preferred in cold weather. Answer: Broil king grid lifter. Look this up on line lots on offer -

When using the charcoal can the grill height be adjusted up and down?
Answer: No, the grill plate does not move or the placement of the coal tray - instructions in the manual should be followed to lay the coal in the tray in the optimum position to get the most effective results and ensure the coals are the right temperature to cook with.
