The Presidium Diamond Tester does a great job for those who want to test jewelry, however, there are some Pros and Cons to Consider. It is an excellent product that is easy to use and works great for less expensive diamonds and other stones. The device is small and portable which makes it easy to use when buying jewelry. The sound alert, however, is reportedly too low, needing the user to keep their ear adjacent to the tester, and it lacks an auto-off feature which makes it easy to leave on or accidentally turn on. The device is also made with poor-quality materials, which result in it breaking after a short period of time. The diamond tester also works on gemstones, not just diamonds. Overall, while the Presidium diamond tester is a decent investment for its price range, its quality concerns and design flaws make it not appropriate for long-term use with valuable jewelry.
