The official height of the pump is 8.6 inches, but it would be about 18 inches once built. The pump is designed for an 18-inch or larger sump pit. However, if you have a smaller sump pit, K2 customer service can help you with additional installation questions. Connecting the pump to municipal water requires waterproof glue like PVC glue. You will also need some time to allow the glue to dry. While a clamp is not required, it is always good to have extra protection. Replacing the spring-loaded water valve is also possible by calling the customer service team. However, the need for a replacement might vary by individual situations. Customer feedback is mixed.
