This Go Rhino hitch step has a sturdy aluminum tube, an attractive semi-flat wrinkle finish, and a durable rubber pad. It installs easily and quickly, and the 36" version fits the back of the VW Golf wagon well. The plastic end caps on the tube have been criticized for easily breaking or getting lost. The hitch step sits below most vehicle bumpers because it comes straight off the receiver. It offers some protection to the back bumper of the vehicle but is not strictly designed to prevent damage to it. It discourages others from getting too close to parked vehicles, according to some users. Some users felt the hitch step sticks out too far from the vehicle; it needs one extra hole position to bring it closer to the bumper.
