How 'spill proof' is spill proof? Can I turn these upside down with water in them and freeze them that way?
Answer: These ice trays are great for war zone, topsy turvy freezers! I haven't tried fully upside down but they snap closed very nicely. I've shown mine off by filling them then tossing them into the freezer... (if you can fit a tray upside down, then it will fit right side up, right? so the fact that they work great sideways is probably useful for a freezer with little room and wonky shaped spaces (like mine). The flip top filling hole is awesome too, first you snap on the lid, then fill using the flip snap hole... I've done sideways and they're fine (though the water does redistribute as gravity dictates ... if the twist doesn't loosen them fully, you tap with a spoon to complete the break into cubes, like any other tray) These are awesome. I would never go back to topless ice trays! -

If they are bpa free why doesn’t it say that in description. is there any way you can prove it? that’s very important
Answer: There's no writing on the product. Contact the vendor. -
Question:
How much (number of tablespoons) will each cube section hold? Want to freeze eggs in it.
Answer: An egg and it’s white WON’T fit in these cube sections. I measured 2 tablespoons into one section. I use large eggs and they won’t fit. -

Can both top and bottom go in dishwasher?
Answer: Definitely bottom, top may warp in a hot dishwasher -
Question:
Does this leave a smell in the ice?
Answer: I have 7 of these trays and I have yet to have any smell or plastic after taste. However, I have found that different bottled waters, well water and city water actually have different tastes. I have found that using Ice Mountain bottled water taste great with no plastic after taste.. Most plastic bottles leave a after taste!! Hope this helps!! -

Answer: I don’t know why but I can tell you that the ice cube trays are wonderful. They are easy to use and seem to function perfectly for me every day. I highly recommend them. -

How long does it take to freeze a tray of cubes?
Answer: That depends on the temperature of the water you start with and the temperature of the freezer. The cubes are small, so it's a bit quicker than the standard tray. -
